Easy school lunch idea: Pinwheels

If your kids are getting tired of sandwiches for lunch, here’s another of my favorite easy lunch ideas: the pinwheel sandwich, or call it a wrap, or a turkey roll-up, or whatever you like. It’s a classic favorite lunch here and so easy to make.

four bento style lunch boxes containing pinwheel sandwiches with carrots, apple, and cookie.

All you need to do is take the usual stuff you might put on a sandwich and roll it up in a tortilla instead. Then just sliced that roll into bite size pieces. I like to stick them on a little skewer so they hold together even if they get tossed around in the lunch box.

The ones you see in this picture have a variety of ingredients because my four kids have different preferences - ham, turkey, roast beef, one is just cheese. Some have mayo and some don’t. You can use cream cheese, or hummus, mustard - the possible combination are endless. Round out the lunch with a fruit, a veggie, and a little sweet treat, and you’re good to go. This is a lunch box that almost always comes home empty.

These lunches are packed in our favorite lunch container - the EasyBoxes Original. You can find even more of our favorite lunch packing products in this custom list on my Amazon shop.
